Moms love pumpkin patches. It can be 100 degrees outside, and we will get our kids dressed up in their “fall” attire to make us think the weather was nice when we were at the pumpkin patch. Gotta Instagram those memories, right?
Today, I’m sharing with you some of the local pumpkin patches in our area. They are scattered around town, so there’s sure to be one in your area Read the details, and plan your visit!
Oil Ranch is located a short drive away in Hockley. Each year, they host their Pumpkin and Scarecrow Festival. This year, the festival opens on October 1-October 31. Hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 am-2:30 pm, Saturday 10 am – 5 pm, and Sundays 12 pm – 5 pm. You can find info on admission rates and directions here.
They offer hayrides, tours of the scarecrow scenes, and tons of pumpkins! Your admission includes ALL of the activities listed on the website (with the exception of Paintball and Mining). That means when you come, you can take advantage of all the fun activities AND the pumpkin festival! Also, each child gets a free pumpkin with paid admission
St. Peter’s United Methodist Church
St. Peter’s UMC Pumpkin Patch will run Monday, October 9 thru Tuesday, October 31. The hours are Monday-Saturday, 11 am-7 pm and Sunday noon-7 pm. The pumpkin patch will close on Halloween. Pumpkins start at $1, and there are some cute backdrops for photo opportunities! All the proceeds go to offset the cost of the annual High School Ministry Mission Trip to Jamaica.
Blessington Farms opens on Sept. 23th! For those who don’t know, this is a great little place where you can go pick blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries during the year. When fall comes, they have a great live pumpkin patch, lots of activities for the kids (think a hay maze, hay rides, barrel train rides, big slides, sand mountains, etc). It really is a great place to bring your kids.
They will have a variety of pumpkins for you to choose from (edible and decorative), as well as lots of activities for kids in their Farm Funland. They also have lots of great photo spots, so you can get that family picture
Hours of Operation- Fridays- 9:30 am – 3:30 pm; Saturdays & Sundays, Sept. 23- Oct. 31, 10 am – 5 pm
Cost is $18.48/person (18 mo. and under are free), and that includes unlimited, all day fun! (Fishing not included)

The Dewberry Farms Pumpkin Patch opens to the public on weekends September 30 through November 12. The hours are Saturdays: 10 am – 6 pm, and Sundays: Noon- 6pm.
Special Hours October 14, 21, and 29- 10 am – 9 pm (Fireworks those nights!)
Dewberry Farms has a TON of stuff for you to do. They have a great corn maze with an election theme this year! You can pick your pumpkin, see lighted pumpkins, and visit the area with all the rides. Dewberry Farms is located off of Hwy. 362, out past Brookshire. Not too far! This is an easy day trip, and you will have plenty of time at the farm.
First United Methodist Church Katy
The Katy FUMC Pumpkin Patch opens up on October 1 and will remain open through the month of October. They are open Sunday thru Friday 12-6 pm & Saturdays 10-6.
Katy FUMC will also host a family pumpkin patch night on October 28 from 6 pm – 8 pm.
The church is located at 5601 5th Street in Old Katy.
First Christian Church Katy
The First Christian Church Pumpkin Patch opens up on October 1 thru October 31. They are open Monday-Friday: 2 pm – 6 pm, Saturdays and Sundays: 10 am – dark. This pumpkin patch has a lot going on! On weekday mornings, they host school/group field trips. If that interests you, you can find contact info here.
On weekends, they have special activities and story tellers in the pumpkin patch. There are also lots of good photo locations. Be sure to check their website or call the church for a schedule of events! (They will have their website updated closer to the opening date.)

The Halter, Inc. pumpkin patch is open every weekend in October! The hours are Saturdays, 9 am – 5 pm, and Sundays, 12 pm – 5 pm.
Parking is $5/car. Admission is $5/child (ages 2-16). Adults are free! Admission covers gate-only admission. Pumpkins and activities are available at an extra cost. For information on tickets for activities and information on location, etc. go here.
